"Retro platform action and RPG blends in the old school app Meganoid."
Meganoid is a very traditional retro platform app. In Meganoid you play as a special agent who gets the objective of infiltrating a secret base. The game has quite a lot of cutscenes for you to enjoy, along with a nice, chip munk soundtrack that totally blends in with the atmosphere.
Meganoid is played with the classic touch buttons for moving left and right. There's also a button to jump. You can also double jump. Later in the game you can use weapons to kill your enemies, but this is done automatically (you only have to pick up the weapon). You complete a level by reaching the finish portal, but in each level there's four stars to obtain. The first one is for reaching the finish before the timer runs out. The second one is obtained by collecting all diamonds.
Meganoid has lots of secret passages and hidden areas for you to find in each level. If you want the diamond star (you'll need it to get the other two stars), you'll have to do your best to search each level thoroughly. When you manage to get the time and diamond star in a level, you open up the Sarge levels. You play these with a different character who has a gun, but the levels are also much and much harder. You'll encounter more enemies and wider gaps to jump over. The last star to achieve in a level is by completing the Oreah mode. In this mode you also play as a different character and the levels are reversed. These ones are very hard and will probably demand you to try a few times before completing it.
One of the wonderful worlds in Meganoid.
Meganoid features a vast amount of gorgeously designed retro worlds each with a very uniqie atmosphere. The levels are short but never too short. I found myself unable to stop playing and even when I did - I would sometimes stop working just to play a few levels. If you like retro apps and are a fan of platform games, you really shouldn't miss this one.
