Third Blade is an arcade-oriented hack 'n slash app in which you play as boy. Your objective is to slice through different waves of monsters and reach the end in each level. Here, a mighty boss will stand before you. You progress in the game by defeating each individual level, in which you also obtain coins and runes - these can be used to by potions, new weapons and armor as well as skills. There are three types of weapons you can use in the game.

Dual-wield: In dual-wield mode, you wield two short blades which you can use to hack through monsters very fast. There's little interval between your attacks which makes it a powerful combo tool as well as a defensive mechanism. You can run faster than with the other weapons.

One-handed blade: This is actually a pretty innovative type of weapon. You hold a single sword in one hand and use it to jab and stab your monsters. This one deals a fair amount of damage compared to the dual-wield but is less fast. It's skills are effective to cut through single-to-medium sized groups of monsters.

Two-handed sword: This one is my favorite. You wield a gigantic sword with two hands and attack very slow. The damage, however, is insane and the skills can be used to mob large groups of monsters and finish them off with a few attacks. You'll have to be very precise and think clear if you want to use this sword because it takes like four seconds to finish one attack.

As you can see, for every type of player there is a weapon to use. However, it's kind of sad how repetitive and uninspired the game can be at times. Like the bosses. You would expect these to be the reward for killing through to many monsters. Some kind of epic climax. But instead, they're mostly just stretched (!) out versions of creatures already seen in the level before. This really is a bad thing. Also, there's advertisements in real-time. These block your map which is not only annoying but simply put not done. If you like hack 'n slash games/arcade and linear gameplay, you will definitely enjoy this. It's not that the game is bad, it's just a little difficult to deal with.
