Great news for fans of the widely acclaimed platform title Super Meat Boy - released a while ago for the PC. Cheese Man is inspired by this game, so buckle up for some challenging platform levels filled with chainsaws, jumping madness and psychedelic bullets firing at will. Even though not as re polished or detailed as the earlier mentioned work, the game has managed to translate the smooth platform controls to smartphone systems without any hassle!

Cheese Man has been developed with the help of the guys at Team Meat, this is obvious throughout the entire game. In Cheese Man you play as a block of cheese, trying to reach the finish in short but challenging levels. The game knows three worlds for you to explore, with another one just in the making. Each world consists of around twelve levels to play, with each a punishing boss that will get your hands sweating!

Controlled by plain buttons on your phones' screen - In Cheese Man you hop from wall to wall and are able to jump twice. This free-running oriented aspect of the game really gives the platforming action another dimension. This way you can clear the levels in various ways - Are you going to jump over spikes one by one or in an enormous two-jump series? The acceleration of the character takes quite a while to master but once obtained the skills, you can't seem to do without it.

Even though it's a joy to play the game, it hasn't managed to come across without any flaws. The animations of the characters are smooth but sometimes glitchy, while the worlds, however different in themes, do seem to get repetitive. Then there's the core elements of the graphics in the worlds that seem to get spammed more with each level.

All in all the game was quite an intense but also amusing ride. The app has a great soundtrack composed by what it seems an indie artist with great skill. The game also features two characters for you to play and there are a few levels that really have some innovative tasks for you to endure. Platforming doesn't get much better, although I wish they added more quantity of obstacles.
